Welcome to Blush Girl Boudoir, St Louis’s premiere boudoir photography studio. Feel free to call or email us anytime – we look forward to being of service and making all your Boudoir dreams come true. Meanwhile, here are answers to some frequently asked questions…
Boudoir – Studio or location?
The adage in boudoir is that “studios aren’t sexy”. While this may not always be true – fake sets, cheesy props and pre lit backgrounds can often lead to uninspiring photos. Just like most fashion magazines and catalogs, at Blush Girl we shoot “on location”. A romantic little French B&B with an antique four poster bed for you intimate lingerie expose or a secluded waterfall for your Sports Illustrated swim suit shoot. We’ll help you match your personality and visual aesthetic to a beautiful location for outstanding results.
Scheduling?
High end Boudoir Photography with professional retouching, custom prints and handmade albums requires significant lead time. Plan on shooting six weeks prior to your big day. If you are tight on time we can often speed things along but leaving plenty of time assures the very best results.
As far as appointments; weekdays are popular and plentiful; preferred by many women who are shooting to surprise their husband. Fridays are also in high demand as some women will do their shoot that afternoon and then use their B&B room or hotel suite that night as a little post-shoot romantic getaway. Weekend slots are limited and often fill up months in advance. In all cases though, please call early to secure your preferred dates.
Gift certificates?
Yes! Perfect for holidays, anniversaries, birthdays – guys love them because they are always the right size and just a phone call away. And ladies, when dropping the hint, help him out by being specific about which package you would like to receive.
Retouching?
At Blush Girl, we have the best boudoir retoucher in the Midwest. Every one of your images will get the full “transparent beauty” treatment that the super model cover girls have come to count on. And best of all, its included in the cost of your romantic photography shoot.
The Team?
Greg will be your photographer – he is a seasoned pro, happily married and super easy to work with. Also at your shoot will be Kay our stylist or Julie, Greg’s digital assistant or both. Together they form a fun, supportive team dedicated to helping you get the very best results from your photo shoot.
Meeting the photographer?
Call us today to make an appointment without obligation. Greg really enjoys meeting with potential clients one on one. You will find him easy talk to and work with and always very professional. At Blush Girl, understanding each clients needs and collaborating with them to make their shoot a success is what we are all about.
What to wear?
Lingerie is by far the most popular option for Boudoir Photography and for good reason – its sole purpose is to make you look sexy & fabulous. Our mantra with lingerie is buy a lot and bring it all, wear a few pieces for your shoot and return the rest. Oh and don’t forget the accessories like heels & jewelry – they will add upscale flair to your shoot. Check out our Fun Links section and enjoy!
Losing weight?
Many women procrastinate about doing a shoot, wanting to loose a few more pounds before they commit. We know from experience however that you don’t have to be a size 0 super model to get good boudoir results. We are experts at making real woman like you with real bodies like yours fell comfortable and look your absolute best on film.
Bringing a friend?
We know it can be tempting to want to bring a friend along to your shoot. Based on our years of experience however we would like to assure you that you’ll feel perfectly comfortable & relaxed within the first 5 minutes and quickly get immersed in looking sexy for the camera. Friends, spouses, etc can be distracting, inhibiting or worse – actively involved in your photo shoot. It’s your call but we strongly encourage you to be brave and come alone – you’ll thanks us for it later.
Music?
Feel free to bring your own music, just try to tilt your playlist toward slow, seductive and romantic tunes. Unlike a high energy fashion shoot where models dance around to fast tempo techno, boudoir is about slowing down, feeling sexy and projecting that vibe for the camera. The right music, both yours and ours, will help get you in the mood for great photos.
Making it a surprise?
Do you get your guys approval before your shoot or surprise him with it later? Only you can make that decision but based on years of feedback from our Blush Girls the answer would overwhelmingly be to make it a surprise. We have yet to hear of a guy who wasn’t positively blown away on the big day (Valentines / Christmas / wedding / anniversary / etc) when he was handed a Blush Book filled with sexy photos of his gal. It happens every time so call us today and let’s get started.
